What exactly is this blog about, I hear you ask? The short answer is art. The slightly longer answer is: what exactly constitutes ‘art’, and what is considered art in these modern times, the censorship of art, and an exploration of different art forms.
Now to introduce ourselves. First up: Klaus, our resident guy. He’ll be offering upfront, realistic and manly opinions in an attempt to counter us girls’ romantic views on the world. Actually, maybe not. He’s gonna cover art in the traditional sense. Basically anything you can find in a frame, that people are gonna pay an arm and a leg to display in their living room.
Next: our very own international spy, Russia. Our centre of creativity and all that is cool. She’s gonna be looking at art from all around the world. And with that comes the unique perspective different cultures have on art, and all the different censorship issues. After all, one country’s masterpiece is another’s scribbles, right?
Last, but hey, certainly not least, me. Diavolina. What to say? Wickedly smart and absolutely brilliant. I’m gonna be looking at everyday art. Essentially covering urban and street art. This is basically the art that we see everyday all around us, which the big shots look down upon. This is the art that shapes societies and makes culture. I get the fun topic.
I think we have something to interest everyone here. From the toughest of art critics, to the kids who sit the back of the classroom and draw all day, there’s something here for everyone. So, take a look around, and of course, share your opinion, we’d love to hear what you have to say.
